Keith Cronrath, P.E.
Mr. Cronrath has been active in forensic engineering since December 1986. During this time Mr. Cronrath has investigated approximately 70 to 110 cases per year involving traffic accident reconstruction, automotive defects and failures, railroad accidents, failure analysis of a variety of materials, ladder accidents, and machinery failures and malfunctions. He has been qualified as an expert in numerous state and federal courts.
Mr. Cronrath is a licensed Professional Engineer in Mechanical and Metallurgical Engineering in Washington and Oregon. His education includes a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University and an Applied Science degree in Auto Mechanics from Spokane Community College. He belongs to several professional societies including Society of Automotive Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASM (formerly known as American Society of Metals), Washington Association of Technical Accident Investigators, and Forensic Accident Reconstructionists of Oregon.
Prior to a career in forensic engineering his career included 3 years as an evaluation engineer in the electronics industry and 4 years as a mechanic diagnosing and repairing automobiles, light duty, medium duty, and heavy duty trucks.

Larry Tompkins, PE
Mr. Tompkins "semi-retired" at the end of 2014 and is no longer partnered with Cronrath & Tomkins Forensic Engineers, P.S. He is accepting select jobs as his schedule permits from his personal office.
Mr. Tompkins has been active in forensic engineering since May 1994. Mr Tompkins is a licensed Professional Engineer of Michigan (currently inactive), Oregon (currently inactive), and Washington. Mr. Tompkins has been retained on over 1300 cases. He has qualified as an expert more than 70 times in various State and Federal courts. When required, he has been illustrating his opinions with personally prepared 2D & 3D animations since 2005
Mr. Tompkins had a 25-year automotive engineering career including a variety of design, test, and development positions for auto/truck manufacturers and suppliers as both an employee and a consultant. Mr. Tompkins has speciffic engineering experience in auto chassis areas including steering, brakes, tires, suspensions, power trains and vehicle dynamics.
Prior to starting his forensic engineering practice, Mr. Tompkins has worked as an ASE Cetified Master Automocbile Mechanic, taught Vocational Auto Mechanics and has an extensive welding/fabrication background. He participated in more than 250 races in SCCA, ARCA and NASCAR's Grand American Division as driver, crew chief and/or car builder.
